PRIVATE RESORT

  Wow, where to begin!? The moment we arrived, Eldon, Hilly, (and Bailey) made all of us feel very welcomed. We stayed at the MeiMei apartment, and everything about the place... read more felt like a fairytale. The pictures here on Airbnb do not do justice to the real thing. The rooms, the pool, the backyard, the people, everything was magical! Four of us visited Bettina, Jonas, Charlie, and I. Since we are kind of young (early 20s), we felt that Eldon and Hilly were like our parents because they cared so much about us 🙂 We always felt safe in the apartment and in the neighborhood as well. The atmosphere was extremely relaxed and comfortable. Throughout our stay, Eldon provided us with great tips on which places to visit. Overall, we all had an amazing vacation because of where we stayed and because of our hosts. There are so many places to visit in this world, but we all agree that we would visit Curacao again, and of course stay at the beautiful Tropisch mini resort.

Whether it was providing us with their own kitchen gear, or bringing fresh mango's from their garden: visiting with our entire family (3 generations) felt like visiting family. Our stay will forever hold a special place in our hearts thanks to the kindness, hospitality, and selflessness of Hilly and Eldon.

They provide you with a filled fridge when you arrive, arrange dive-trips and offer you the use of everything you might possibly need during your stay. You can take a coolbox to the beach, invite your friends for a BBQ around the pool (make sure to invite E& H as well) and they will make you feel right at home!The pool is great, you have your own fridge, your own tennisracket to kill mozzies with, and the shower and bed are great too!You won't regret staying with Eldon, but beware.... before you know it, you migth want to come back again to this loverly house on this loverly Island!Have fun!

Eldon was also exceptionally helpful and communicative. We really enjoyed our stay and absolutely would come back! My only warning for mosquito-bite prone travelers is to bring some bug spray. For some reason I attract a lot of mosquitoes and got bitten quite a few times, but that is the price to pay for such a lovely garden! My friend did not have the same issue. Some TSA approved picaridin bug spray kept me comfortable

  The stay with Eldon and Hilly was fantastic! We spent five days at their home. The accommodation are private and separate however if you want to get to know... read more the other guests there is an opportunity to do that.We really enjoyed the resort like pool and outside amenities. The landscaping and pool was so relaxing and private we really felt like we had our own resort for the week! The location was fantastic and it was very easy to find things once we downloaded the correct apps. The App we would encourage you to try was we maps. The apartment was very clean and we would encourage you to bring a iPad or laptop to enjoy the free Wi-Fi but no TV. Also, don’t forget to bring your blow dryer. Hilly and Eldon are very friendly and very accommodating. They gave us several suggestions for shopping and restaurants. Three suggestions for Curaçao for food we would have for you is to try the wine cellar restaurant, cravings for sushi, and Pinchos for breakfast. Finally, don’t forget that the Mega Mart is very close by and the apartment comes with a full size refrigerator and outside kitchen.One last note, if you love to snorkel and swim Playa Knip beach is beautiful and all natural we would highly suggest making the drive it was one of the most beautiful beaches we enjoyed on Curaçao.

We had a rental car and everything felt really close by, supermarket, beaches and the centre of the city. I would love to come back, both to this beautiful island Curacao but also for Eldon & Hilly! The... read more outdoor space was nice to enjoy morning coffee and watch birds visit. At night you can hear the whistle frogs. I mentioned to Eldon we like to hike and he immediately hooked us up with a local guide who showed us Sint Joris Bay Area. I would definitely recommend staying here, we just felt right at home.

  We stayed at Eldon and Hilly’s place during a conference for six days, and it was really an unforgettable experience in Curacao. Eldon waited for us to show the apartment... read more since we arrived quite late. The place is quiet yet charming with a pool and a big shared kitchen for everyone, surrounded by a garden with tropical trees and beautiful flowers. However you can still the kitchen in your own apartment if you don’t want to share with anyone. The rooms are air-conditioned, which is perfect under the Curacao weather. We always felt welcomed during our stay, because Eldon and Hilly always helped us with suggestions regarding traveling and sightseeing around Curacao. We always got greeted by Bailey every time we came back at night. Eldon even spent some time helping me get to the airport on my last day alone, and I’m extremely thankful for this. If I have another chance, and hope that this time the conference is shorter, I definitely would like to stay longer at Eldon‘s place again. Nevertheless you can ask Eldon to let him stay out of your area if you don't fancy dogs.The facilities of this place are great. especially the large kitchen and open space next to the pool I found very nice.It is great to have a poolside diner and have an evening dive afterworths. Also the poolside shower and toilet come in handy.If there is anything bothering, you have a special wish or you just want to know more about the Island then please ask Eldon or Hilly. They really are open minded people and lots of fun to stay with.The four of us really enjoyed staying. The facilities are also great for couples or for a group of six if you hire both appartement.

By the lovely pool area there is a full indoor kitchen and dining area in case you want to try some gourmet recipes with native ingredients. Their motto says it all, " You come as guests and leave as friends ".

The pool was amazing, if its chilly out you want to be in the pool its nice and warm at night. Rooms were clean with plenty of towels. The AC was on point, and the location is in the center of everything. I highly recommend renting a car, its great for getting around the island, taxis are very expensive. Or you can rent scooters.

  The Stay at the Tropisch mini Resort was a unique experience!
We felt very comfortable and welcomed from the very first day.

They made us feel like Home and this resort also taught us to forget the time completely and just lean back and relax.
Eldon and Hilly are are very helpful and they can always give you the best advices to your vacation in Curacao.
The Apartment was big and clean and equipped with everything we needed and one thing I have to say is that the open Kitchen is amazing for cooking!!
You can reach every point of the island very good by car but you will need a car to explore the whole island!
To put it in a nutshell, It was so amazing that I didn´t want to go back to Germany , so we definately will come back and visit this little Resort again. We hope that Bailey will remember us then !! 🙂
