At one point I needed an iron so he drove to the lodging just to provide one. Even if you wanna chat with him we're very accommodating. You won't be disappointed if you stay here!

Very kind & extremely responsive. As a solo female traveler, I felt extremely safe & looked after. The only thing I will say is the mosquitoes are definitely around so I would recommend some type of bug spray but that’s anywhere. So thankful again for all their help & hospitality!

The resort is close to beaches, downtown, the airport and many different groceries stores! Eldon and his wife were so hospitable and thoughtful. Besonders geliebt haben wir die überdachte Außenküche mit dem Essplatz gleich daneben, so dass sich das ganze Leben im Freien abgespielt hat. Die herzliche Atmosphäre, die Eldon und seine Frau Hilly geschaffen haben, und der freundliche Kontakt mit den anderen Gästen vermittelten sofort ein heimisches Gefühl, so dass wir gerne länger geblieben wären. Die Tipps , von der Autovermietung bis zu Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (großer Supermarkt in nur 1,5 km Entfernung) und Ausflügen, waren alle sehr hilfreich. Man kann dort gut zur Ruhe kommen und das Leben genießen - und bei Bedarf in den Büchern schmökern, die im Appartment zu finden sind. Ein Mietauto ist empfehlenswert, um leicht in die Innenstadt und zu den Stränden zu kommen (jeweils 20 - 30 Min.).

  Tijdens onze quarantaine in Curaçao hebben we veertien nachten bij Eldon & Hilly verbleven. In die periode gingen we na een uitstap twee keer op hotel, en we kunnen eerlijk... read more zeggen: geen enkel verblijf kan tippen aan dat van Eldon & Hilly! Ze zijn waarschijnlijk de meest vriendelijke en gastvrije mensen op dit eiland.

Het resort is een oase van rust. Zelfs wanneer er bouwwerken in de buurt plaatsvonden, konden we hier heerlijk relaxen. Eldon toverde één van de twee slaapkamers om tot een bureau, zodat we hier konden werken. Pauzeren deden we dan weer met een duik in het zwembad, die door de zon een zalige temperatuur had.

Het slapen was wel wennen voor mij: veel muggen en een harde matras. Maar de hosts kwamen met een oplossing, en gaven ons zelfs een klamboe te leen.

Eldon was zeer responsief en gaf tips, al vanaf onze boeking. Zo had hij ons vooraf geholpen om een auto te huren aan een zeer voordelig tarief. Tijdens ons verblijf vroeg hij regelmatig of alles naar wens was. Na een tegenvallende snorkelervaring snorde hij zijn eigen snorkelmateriaal op, dat we mochten uitproberen. Ook kregen we meermaals mango's en vers kokoswater aangeboden. Toen we samen een borrel deden, had Hilly voor ons zelfs heerlijke mangocake gebakken!

Aan iedereen die op reis gaat naar Curaçao: hier móet je verblijven.

They provide you with a filled fridge when you arrive, arrange dive-trips and offer you the use of everything you might possibly need during your stay. You can take a coolbox to the beach, invite your friends for a BBQ around the pool (make sure to invite E& H as well) and they will make you feel right at home!The pool is great, you have your own fridge, your own tennisracket to kill mozzies with, and the shower and bed are great too!You won't regret staying with Eldon, but beware.... before you know it, you migth want to come back again to this loverly house on this loverly Island!Have fun!

  Wij hebben een week verbleven in het Mini-Resort Amigunan (appartement Mei Mei). Door het warme ontvangst van Eldon (en zijn vrouw Hilly) voelden wij ons meteen op ons gemak. Het... read more appartement ligt in het midden van het gebouw (vandaar de naam Mei Mei) en is omgeven door vele planten, die voor beschutting en een jungle-achtig gevoel zorgen. Juist deze jungle is voor ons doorslaggevend geweest om voor dit appartement te kiezen. Veel andere resorts op AirBNB vonden wij kaal en ongezellig ogen.

Het appartement is goed verzorgd, met alle voorzieningen beschikbaar; buitenkeuken met voldoende gerei, koelkast, fijne badkamer en voldoende ruimte. Wij waren met z'n tweeën, maar met 4 personen is het ook goed te doen. Er zijn veel muggen, maar met het dichthouden van de deuren (er is airco) en het aanzetten van de citroenkaarsen valt de overlast reuze mee. Na zonsondergang beginnen de vogels te fluiten, wat wij erg gezellig vonden.

Naast het verzorgde appartement (Mei Mei) heeft Eldon ons goed geholpen bij het verblijf op Curaçao. Zo heeft hij ervoor gezorgd dat we van het vliegveld opgepikt werden, dat er een huurauto voor ons klaar stond en toen wij een lekke band hadden peinsde hij niet om ons te helpen met het vervangen van de band. Wij zijn daarom erg tevreden met onze host van deze vakantie. Ook wil ik Rob's autoverhuur graag even noemen, want hij heeft hier ook aan bijgedragen. Zeker een aanrader!

Wij hebben het zwembad niet veel gebruikt, maar het is een mooi bad en goed verzorgd. Tip: neem een lekkere ochtendduik. Wij zouden iedereen dit appartement aanraden die van groen houdt, opzoek is naar een centraal gelegen plek (de meeste plekken op het eiland binnen 30 min te bereiken) en een prettig verblijf wenst. Eldon en Hilly, bedankt voor de goede zorgen.

I mentioned to Eldon we like to hike and he immediately hooked us up with a local guide who showed us Sint Joris Bay Area. I would definitely recommend staying here, we just felt right at home.

Het buiten leven en de buiten keuken vonden wij echt geweldig en van alle gemakken voorzien! De Nespresso machine heeft overuren gemaakt, zo blij met goede koffie in de ochtend. En betreft de kamers, deze hebben een fijne arico en fan, de bedden lagen lekker en het was top dat er voor ieder handdoeken en stranddoeken waren.
Èèn en al lof over deze vakantie in Amigunan en we komen heel graag (en snel) terug!

My only warning for mosquito-bite prone travelers is to bring some bug spray. For some reason I attract a lot of mosquitoes and got bitten quite a few times, but that is the price to pay for such a lovely garden! My friend did not have the same issue. Some TSA approved picaridin bug spray kept me comfortable

The pool was amazing, if its chilly out you want to be in the pool its nice and warm at night. Rooms were clean with plenty of towels. The AC was on point, and the location is in the center of everything. I highly recommend renting a car, its great for getting around the island, taxis are very expensive. Or you can rent scooters.
